How did the villa get its name? Many moons ago, back in 1538, the ship Gagliana Grossa sank near the island of Žižanj, so this luxury villa was named Gagliana in his honour. You can find out more about the ship and the items from the ship in the Homeland Museum in Biograd, which is still a great attraction today.
